Dr. U.S. Rawat

Former Entomologist and Assistant Director (Entomology) in the Directorate of plant Protection, Quarantine and storage, Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India, for 9½ years; Ex-Dy. Registrar (Development & Research) and Finance of prestigious University like Banaras Hindu University for 11 years; Dr. Rawat has been steering the Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Central University, Lucknow as its Registrar for the period of 5 years from October, 2004 to October, 2009 and subsequently appointed as a first Registrar of newly converted Central University from the State University i.e. Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University Srinagar (Garhwal) by H.E. the President of India for the period of 3 years w.e.f. 14.12.2009 to 13.12.12.

For his far-sighted administrative vision and caliber, very competent academic Knowledge and training experience in management (32 years) and Research (13 years) which enabled him to associate himself with many academic and administrative related development works always re-forming, re-structuring and re-invigorating the redundant system of replacing them with more pragmatic and realistic new system, which skill and efforts brought him as a good administrator and academician in the field of Higher education.

Consequent upon his long administrative acumens and academic vision in the field of higher education and that too of three reputed Central Universities. The Governor of Uttarakhand has entrusted with Dr. U.S. Rawat, the present Vice-Chancellor of Sridev Suman Uttarakhand University, additional charge of the Vice-Chancellor of Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Uttarakhand Medical Education University w.e.f. 23.02.2015.
